Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the Seattle Housing Authority a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting 11 consecutive times, for the fiscal years 1997 through 2007. The most recent award was received in November of 2008. This national award is designed to recognize and encourage excellence in financial reporting by state and local governments.

Moving to new Ways

Seattle Housing Authority is one of 24 high-performing housing authorities nationwide chosen for a five-year demonstration program called Moving To new Ways (MTW). Created by Congress, the program allows the agency more flexibility within HUD rules and more local control over its federal assistance budgets in order to reward effective management and increase accountability.
