Strategic Plan

On May 23, 2005, the Board of Commissioners approved the Seattle Housing Authority's 2005-2010 Strategic Plan to set the agency's direction for that five year period.

The plan that has guided the Housing Authority during this five year period was designed to help the agency remain committed to its mission in the face of declining resources for housing from the federal government.

Results from the 2005 - 2010 plan

In the period of time since its adoption, the 2005 - 2010 plan has helped staff to remain focused on increasing the number of households it served by building new housing and expanding the number of Housing Choice Vouchers. The plan put forward initiatives under four broad areas:

  • Remaining committed to the Housing Authority's mission to enhance the Seattle community by creating and sustaining decent, safe, and affordable living environments that foster self-sufficiency for people with low incomes.
  • Striving for financial independence
  • Improving process and performance
