The Family Access Supplement (FAS) supports access to designated opportunity neighborhoods in Seattle for families with children by providing an additional subsidy to reduce their rent portion to 40% of their monthly income. Each voucher size (i.e. bedroom) has a maximum supplement available for families living in or moving to such neighborhoods.
To qualify, households must:
- have a Tenant-Based Voucher;
- have at least one child under 18; and
- lease a unit or currently live in a designated opportunity neighborhood.
FAS neighborhoods include Broadview, Green Lake, Interbay, Magnolia, Maple Leaf, Northgate, North Ballard, North Queen Anne, Ravenna, University District and Wallingford. If you are a family with children interested in leasing a unit, click this link to determine whether it is located in one of these neighborhoods. Enter your address in the search bar in the upper left corner, and the unit will appear on the map. If the address falls within an area highlighted in green it is FAS-eligible.
